Why I don't Like Microsoft and Windows

I'm not one of those Linux fan boys who loves to hate Microsoft and its bloated, over-rated and over-priced OS.... okay, I lied, I'm one of those Linux fan boys who loves to hate Microsoft and its bloated, over-rated and over-priced OS. Why do I hate  Microsoft and Windows? For one, because of Microsoft's shitty business practices, and for another because their OS sucks the bag.

What  pisses off is that when you want to buy a laptop, you have to purchase a copy of their sub-standard and bloated OS; not to mention that the laptops come with a shitload of crapware that works with Windows, or against it, depending on how you see it. There are only a handful of companies that sell laptops with Linux pre-installed, but they tend to be rather expensive and they don't give you much choice which distro you'd like installed; it's usually Ubuntu.

Why can't we buy a laptop with no OS installed and choose whatever OS we wish to install on the products we pay good money for? Why do we have to purchase a copy of an OS we don't even like or use? Why? Because a few years ago our governments let Microsoft ride roughshod over OEMs and had them sign contracts that would discount Windows if their OS was installed on all their computers, so that when you bought one, M$ DOS, and later Windows, was already installed, like it or not. I realize that this was finally stopped and that Microshaft can't do this anymore, but governments let them do it so long that they established a virtual monopoly. Thank you Mr. Politician who got good and greased by Microsoft!

Because of this, M$ gained such a huge market share that OEMs automatically now install Windows on all their computers, because they go, not where their customers want, but where the money is and because of the discount Microshaft still gives them for installing their OS.

We should be free to install whichever OS we choose on the laptops we buy, even if that choice happens to Windows. If we had that choice, many of us would save some money when buying a laptop, because we could install our favorite Linux distro, for FREE, and dispense with Microsoft's over-rated crapware.

Isn't it about time that OEMs started giving users a break and gave them a choice which OS they want to use, instead of imposing Windows on them? I don't know about you, but I think it's high time that we, the people who make these assholes rich, had more say in what we pay good money for. What do you think?
